This is my go-to method and recipe to whip up quick loaves of bread. The only pain about this recipe is washing the food processor after use. As such, I usually make at least 3 batches (3 loaves) at a time. I have blogged about this method in the past and to this day, still make bread this way if I need to make a plain white or whole-grain loaf.

Review: Cuisinart Steam and Convection Oven (CSO-300N)


I first encountered the Cuisinart Steam and Convection Oven at a friend’s house. I had known about steam ovens but had never seen a counter top one before. I was quite impressed with the functionality and was drawn to it because the hubs and I love baking bread and baking our bread in a steam oven seemed rather appealing. However, the price point was a little high and we didn’t have the space for it.

Freezing food – What I use

When I first started freezing food, I used Ziploc sandwich bags. However, I quickly found that I was spending a lot on sandwich bags, and throwing out a lot of bags after use.

I then experimented with a more eco-friendly option – using containers. However, I found that some foods do not freeze well in containers (think freezer burn and ice crystals) and stained the containers. Some containers also cracked easily even though they were labeled freezer-safe.
